At Whiddon Laurieton on the New South Wales mid-north coast, Registered Nurse and Deputy Director of Care Services, Dale Feeney cares for residents living with Dementia in Whiddon’s dedicated Memory Support Home. At home, Dale is also the carer for her husband Peter Feeney, who was diagnosed with Dementia in 2019.

In honour of Women’s Health Week 4th – 8th September, and this year’s theme, ‘Grow Your Knowledge’ Whiddon are celebrating women who have led incredible lives as a reminder to other women to live a life filled with passion, courage and spirit.

Aaron joined Whiddon in 2020 seeking a change from his previous roles in hospitality and a fulfilling way to apply over 20 years of experience as an executive chef across various hotels and restaurants. He was quickly drawn to Whiddon’s commitment to Relationship-Based Care (RBC) and forward-thinking approach to food and dining.

From a young age, Manju always envisioned herself working in the aged care industry. After joining Whiddon 4 years ago as a Service Manager she quickly progressed into a Director of Care Services. In her role as Director of Care Services at Whiddon Easton Park, Manju plays a vital role in the journey of residents under her care, guiding them from the day they enter the facility to the day they leave her care.

Romina’s Story: Celebrating Aged Care Employees Day   

Romina started her career as an Enrolled Nurse straight out of school and worked in community disability before becoming a Registered Nurse. Romina joined Whiddon nearly 10 years ago as a Registered Nurse and has since progressed into the role of a Clinical Care Coordinator. Romina has discovered a whole new side to aged care that is full of life and vitality, shedding the perceptions of aged care being a dark and lifeless environment.

Meet Stan, one of the devoted volunteers at Whiddon's Casino Mens Shed. Before the Men’s Shed inception, Stan spent many mornings at visiting his wife in Whiddon's Casino Care Home. Noticing a gap in activities for men at the home, Stan, and the team at Whiddon set out to establish a shared community space for residents and members of the extended Casino community to connect and engage in activities.
