Whiddon Welcomes Mareeba Aged Care to the Family in Maclean, NSW

Whiddon is proud to announce the acquisition of Mareeba Aged Care Home in Maclean, NSW, extending its presence in aged care to 23 Homes across NSW & SE QLD.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to honour Mareeba’s legacy of care and continue their support for residents, families and employees,” said Chris Mamarelis, CEO of Whiddon. “We’re already part of the Maclean community through our existing home, and we’re thrilled to welcome Mareeba into the Whiddon family.”
After more than 40 years of dedicated service, Mareeba’s Directors are transitioning ownership and management to Whiddon, effective from October.
Steve Gordon and Sam Baker, Directors of Mareeba Aged Care, shared, “We are confident that Whiddon is the right provider to take Mareeba into the future and continue the legacies the Baker and Gordon families have helped grow over the last 40 years”.
Both organisations are committed to ensuring a seamless transition. Residents will continue to receive care from the same dedicated employees, with no changes to current arrangements.
The sale of Mareeba was successfully brokered by Shane Nicholson, Director of ACSL Property.
From October, Mareeba Aged Care will be renamed Whiddon Mareeba Maclean, reflecting our shared values and vision for the future.
