Bringing The Fun and Flavour of Iconic Beef Week to Whiddon Casino: Residents VS Chefs Cook Off!
Not-for-profit regional aged care provider Whiddon is joining in on the celebration of Casino Beef Week, Australia’s iconic beef industry and the rural way of life.

Whiddon will be bringing Beef Week home to its Residents for a fun-filled culinary challenge at its Casino Residential Care home on Wednesday 22nd May.
The team of professional Whiddon Chefs up will battle it out against the ready to rumble Residents with years of cooking experience.
The Cook Off will take place at the Whiddon Casino BBQ area with marquees set up.
- 10:00 - Whiddon Casino Coffee Club
- 11:30 - BBQs prepared for Whiddon Casino Cook Off
- 12:00 - Whiddon Casino Cook Off officially begins!
Whiddon participating Staff & Residents will be available for media interviews and comment during and after the Cook Off while Wellbeing & Lifestyle Manager at Whiddon Casino Jeremy Watson-Bell will be spokesperson.
Chefs often create special meals at Whiddon to celebrate events and milestones, or just to put a smile on the face of a resident if they were craving a certain dish!
Participating in the Cook Off, Whiddon Chef Jason Watterson says the stereotypes around food in aged care couldn’t be further from the truth of today.
“Our team is always seeking creative ways to deliver wholesome meals using quality local ingredients, prepared fresh at our care homes every day."

Whiddon will be sourcing local produce for its Cook-Off that supports the local Richmond Valley & Northern Rivers community.
