Alyson Jarrett is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Whiddon, an industry-leading, not-for-profit aged care organisation caring for close to 3,000 people through Residential Aged Care, Community Care and Retirement Living.
Alyson is a highly skilled senior executive and Registered Nurse with more than 35 years of experience in acute, aged and community care. A passion for aged care has led Alyson to senior leadership roles, overseeing strategic and operational management of various health and aged care services over the past 20 years.
Alyson’s approach to leadership is motivated by her love of working with people and being able to make a difference in their day to day lives through inspiration and positivity. She was instrumental in COVID-19 Point of Care testing and navigating Whiddon successfully through the pandemic, including pioneering Rapid Antigen Testing in aged and community care and successfully overseeing the first trials of Rapid PCR testing in aged care. She is heavily involved and passionate about Whiddon’s Relationship Based Care (RBC) approach and the ongoing embedding of the model within the organisation, including the design and construction of Whiddon’s latest aged care homes adopting RBC principals.
Alyson's focus on creating positive change and fostering a practice-based approach throughout her career in nursing and community care has led to her ongoing success in fostering enhanced outcomes for those in care. With Whiddon’s services extending across rural, regional, and remote New South Wales and Queensland, Alyson is part of a team that are always looking at new and disruptive initiatives to create world-leading models of care for Australia’s increasingly aged population.
Since joining the Whiddon family in 2008, Alyson has held several leadership roles at the organisation, as well as previous roles at RSL Lifecare, North Coast Primary Health Network and North Coast Area Health Service. Alyson holds an MBA, Master’s in Clinical Science (Health Ageing and Aged Care) and a Bachelor of Nursing.
